Among many other South Carolina Family Courts, Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties each require litigants to participate in mediation. Even before mediation was mandatory, my firm encouraged our clients to attempt it. Most cases are able to resolve some or all of their issues at mediation, thereby avoiding lengthy and potentially costly trials. The informal nature of mediation can also reduce tension from emotionally charged cases. I know how to take full advantage of the opportunity that mediation presents by forming an effective strategy and making sure that you are well prepared.
